If you are anywhere in South Florida you may want to check out the Big Cypress Shootout happening Feb. 24-26th at Billie Swamp Safari.
This is a reenactment of the Second Seminole War along with gator wrestling, venomous snake show, Seminole stomp dancing, tomahawk throwing and much more. There will also be Seminole and soldier camps, authentic weapons and attire. Hurry up because tickets for the shootout are limited and there is no alcohol permitted.
If you can’t make this event, please consider visiting Billie Swamp and staying overnight in one of their chickees. If you do, request the one with the porch and don’t plan on sleeping in because once the air boats crank up it can get noisy.
